Why is the sound on my Samsung TV not working?

Press “Menu” on the remote, then select the “Support” menu. From there, select the “Self Diagnosis” option and then choose “Sound Test”. The TV will play a melody out of the built-in speakers. If you hear the sound, then the audio problem (whatever it may be) isn’t in the TV’s components.

Wasn’t an issue with my previous M550 soundbar, just with the new Q60T one. First thing to try is to use the “Universal Remote” option on the tv to setup the tv remote to control the soundbar.

Goto System Preferences -> Sound -> Check “Show Volume in the menu bar”. Then from the Volume Bar in the menu bar change the “Output” back to “MacBook Pro Speakers” For anyone who might have the same problem, it seems to be a weird bug on High Sierra at least.
