How to fix no sound coming out of the AV receiver?

Contact onkyo and they should help you by fixing the broken part. Normally if its a onboard chip as i’m assuming it is, they are almost impossible to fix without expensive tools. Contact them and see what they can do, if they cant do anything, let me know and ill give you another option.

Is it safe to buy Onkyo tx-nr616 again?

Will not buy Onkyo again and advise others not to do so. Would you believe it. The loaned tx-nr616 has now started to become intermittent on start up for dislaying images to the tv. Looks like the hdmi board is starting to fail on this one now. Spoke to richer sounds and they will give me another loan machine.
