The VS4121 sounded cleaner and and more balanced than other old speakers. It was a great sounding set of speakers. These did suffer from “mid-drop” but it can be mitigated with EQ. The sound is great. The bass is unbelievably good, deep and loud. The sound, the controls, the look, all excellent.

From other reviewers’ comments, I gather that these Altec Lansings aren’t returnable, so I’ll use them.

I absolutely LOVE these things! Short story – I’ve had my previous Altec Lansing speakers since 2004. They finally died late summer of 2017. Seriously.. that’s 13 years. They lasted THAT long and pushed great sound up until the moment they died. (more on that in a minute).
