That will probably be a shorted speaker cable or bad speaker. If the error message still occurs with all input and speaker wires disconnected then the message is accurate that the problem is internal to the amp.

Yamaha RX-V471 died on me and sorry to tell you, it wasn’t a power surge. And even if it would have been one, my whole system is plugged in a APC Back UPS 1300W and it is still going on strong. So my AV was working in the best conditions.

When watching a Blu-Ray (played through a Yamaha BDS473) through my Rx-v473 receiver, the decoder is always displaying as PCM where as I believe it should be showing DTS HD, meaning I’m not actually getting HD sound? Tried altering the settings in the Blu-ray player.
