At that point I was getting the UE33 error. So I looked that up online and read it was due to a firmware update failure. So then I attempted to update via USB, that succeeded no problems. Logging into the router online says it has the right bios version.

UE22. Also not willing to do the heat gun and constant fiddling fix. Plus it was too old to use newest HDMI so it refused to work with my 4k signals. I don’t think there’s any real data base showing average life span of these units, so any claim for one brand or another is going to be nothing but anecdotal.
