What is Onkyo whole house mode?

The Whole House Mode only supports analog audio. • To adjust the volume of Multi Zone, switch the AV receiver. to Multi Zone control.

What is Onkyo protect mode?

The Onkyo protection circuit is activated when the sensor in the receiver detects excessive heat or voltage irregularities. Using speakers with the incorrect impedance and running the receiver at excessive volumes for a prolonged period will trigger the protection circuit.

How do I get my Onkyo out of Protect Mode?

Turn the receiver on and turn the volume to the maximum setting. Leave the receiver on for 30 seconds. If the receiver shuts off and goes back into protect mode you will need to contact your Onkyo dealer.

Why does my Onkyo TV not play music?

If I turn on bluetooth on my phone and play music, everything works right, besides the volume being set high. Im not sure if it has to do with using the ARC connection and HDMI cable. I have an optic cable, but if I disconnect the HDMI from the ARC port, I cant see the screen on the TV to adjust the settings on the receiver.

How do I get Zone 2 on my Onkyo?

Hook up the output from the HDMI audio splitter, either digital optical or RCA jacks, back to a receiver input. I used an optical cable and chose the digital optical “TV” input on the back of the receiver. Map the input you chose to the component you want to select in Zone 2 to play (in my case, InputOutputAssign->TV to “OPTICAL 2”).

How is the TV connected to the Onkyo receiver?

The TV is connected to the receiver via the HDMI ARC port. I believe that is connected correctly since the sound does come out of the speaker, just set at a much higher level than normal. Would I be better off using the optic port and cable for the connection from the tv to receiver?

Are there any Onkyo speakers left in Australia?

Its next to impossible to find Onkyo speakers instock anywhere. Bought a pair of SKH-410B a couple of weeks ago. Went back to the store to buy another pair and they were gone. I was told that they will no longer be restocked in Australia. Major retailers no longer stock their Receivers here too.

Who are the owners of the company Onkyo?

Onkyo remains family-owned, with the Ohtsuki family still the majority shareholder with a 26% stake in the company. Regardless of the company’s future direction, Onkyo remains one of the most reliable brands in the mid-tier home A/V market, but the industry itself is changing rapidly.

Why is my Onkyo receiver playing sound as PCM and not?

As above the Player (your PC) will be capable of decoding the HD audio ‘on-board’ so sends LPCM to the AVR! If you reset the PC to Bistream the wee HD audio logo will light up on the AVR – the sound will stay the same though and potentially you lose any ‘secondary’ audio you are trying to access on the BD disc.

Can a Blu ray player work with an Onkyo receiver?

Yes, if you have an HDMI going from the Blu-ray player to the Amp, then you should be taking your audio from this input and then, provided you have everything set up properly, your HD audio should work fine. Martin. Thanks for the help.
