Is the Denon AVR always in standby mode?
Is the Denon AVR always in standby mode?
(Quite freaky the first time it happened and I heard a child downstairs in the middle of the night!) The AVR is always in standby mode when we go to bed. The TV is an old Panasonic plasma but it’s turned off (not in standby).
Why is there no sound coming out of my Denon TV?
An HDMI cable runs between the two units and is connected to the ARC input. The receiver turns itself on…and then a minute or so later, it turns off. No audio is coming out of the speakers because the TV remains off. I swapped out the Denon for another unit….same problem.
How to turn on TV audio on Denon AVR?
There is a workaround using a Harmony remote, but you don’t need to use this with more current Denon or Marantz AV receivers that include the TV AUDIO SWITCHING setting option. Click to expand… The newer Denon AVR’s have a separate setting for HDMI / CEC and ARC. So you can leave ARC switched on but have HDMI / CEC switched off.
When does my Denon x2500h turn on and off?
Every morning usually around 8am my Denon x2500h will suddenly turn on and then turn off after 30-40 seconds. It doesn’t go to the last audio input it simply goes to tv audio. Last week I thought that perhaps the TV (Sony xf90) was looking for an update around this time of day so I turned off auto update but the problem came back today.

Why does my Denon 3806 have no sound?
My problem is that I have a Dynaudio Sub500 connected to a Denon 3806 and there is no sound coming out of the subwoofer. I have checked and verified to ensure that all connections are properly connected….RG59 cable running from receiver sub out to input for LFE on subwoofer.

What can you do with a Denon avr-591?
While we know this can cause problems with rhythm-based games like Rock Band and Guitar Hero, for the most part people will love it. It really simplifies your life. Also, while the AVR-391 was 3D ready, the AVR-591 also enables the other features of the HDMI spec – namely Audio Return Channel and CEC support.
Why does my Denon AVR not work on my TV?
If you have Dolby Digital set to ON on the cable box, but your TV cannot accept Dolby Digital audio (many cannot), there will be no audio passed to the TV, rather you would have to set Dolby Digital to OFF on the cable box. Also, for more helpful information on your new AVR, review posts 3-7 in the 2015 Denon AVR Owner’s thread linked below
Why is my Denon HDMI audio passthrough not working?
Audio passthrough doesn’t work when the avr is in standby mode. If you have Dolby Digital set to ON on the cable box, but your TV cannot accept Dolby Digital audio (many cannot), there will be no audio passed to the TV, rather you would have to set Dolby Digital to OFF on the cable box.
