The Denon AVR-391 is an excellent AV receiver based on its price, but integrating it with the Denon iPod docking station is a bit of a mess. I think Yamaha does a little better job in this respect – but thus far I have not been about to find an iPod docking station that integrates well into an AV system.
Can a asd-11r be used with a Denon 391?
The ASD-11R iPod docking station can still be used with the AVR-391 using the S-Video into the receiver then component video out on the receiver to the TV. The remote on the Denon 391 will also work.

Is the gas spring attached to the 391?
The 391 has its gas system spring attached to the barrel. As there is no loose spring, shooters have a tougher time losing it. Shooters that fail to maintain their 391’s can go a very long time, as the addition of a plastic recoil buffer at the back of the receiver inhibits peening due to excessive bolt speed with a worn recoil spring.
What should I do if my old receiver is not working?
At the very least, it will help you when you’re troubleshooting your vintage receiver. If the output circuit works fine then you can just cross it off the list of potential problems. The output circuit wouldn’t work without the help of the input circuit.
