Why does my Acer Aspire E 15 laptop not boot?
Windows 10 x64 Very Slow on new Acer Aspire 3 A315-15 laptop. Acer Aspire 5742z will not boot with internal CD/DVD drive connected. No CD/DVD. You got ripped off. I see pretty consistent traffic to this thread so I’d like to provide a bit of clarification. n2gc was correct, the E1-522-5659 (NX.M81AA.010) does not ship with a optical disk drive, but we do have many E1-522 model’s that do.

The CD-ROM option simply disappeared from BIOS at its own will. A few months ago (+/- 5 months) I received a brand new machine (this very one) with windows 8 (OEM). The 1st thing I’ve done was installing KUbuntu 14.04 using Ubuntu boot manager (GRUB) along with Windows. To do this I had to change the boot sequence in BIOS which worked perfectly.
