How do you turn off a Yamaha receiver?

Push the power button, MAIN appear and then turn off. The Service manual talk about updating Firmware but I never found any RXV471-xxxx.bin file anywhere on the internet. Hold TONE CONTROL + INFO + POWER Buttons. Scroll all Main and Sub-Menus. Everything is ok.

How does the delay work on a Yamaha receiver?

In other words, when the Sonos is the source, connected to the Yamaha via RCA = delay. Connected via digital = delay. The work arounds are ‘direct’ or ‘party mode’ but they make it tricky to automate.

Why did my Yamaha receiver die after power outage?

Whilst there was no power (still plugged in), I tried switching it on (with the remote) and it ‘weakly’ came on with the usual click which was weird, but it ‘died’ after that. I tried turning it on after the power came back, and it now does not turn on full stop, no light, no click no nothing.

Is there backup power for a Yamaha AVR?

Click to expand… There is no backup power in that AVR. So if it “weakly” came on, your power was not completely out. It was obviously compromised somehow, but not out. That means there is no telling what kind of spikes came into the house.

What should I do if my Yamaha receiver won’t connect to WiFi?

A full reset is pretty painful to do unless you can reload your settings from some known-good ones you previously saved (not familiar with your Yamaha model, save the settings you have now regardless, if you can). But I guess it couldn’t hurt to reset, because a warranty repair (if that’s what is eventually needed) would do that anyway.

How does musiccast work on a Yamaha receiver?

I’ve noted that setting the MusicCast implementation is baked into the Yamaha AVR’s, meaning that it will alter how the receiver handles multiple zones, whether using the MusicCast app – or not. Choosing ‘audio sync’ in MusicCast makes the issue go away when the Sonos source is connected.

When / if Yamaha are likely to announce these?

I’ve had a look on Google and seen on avs forums some photos of a new line of Yamaha receivers but haven’t seen much info on them on here.
