Why is my Onkyo ht-r391 receiver not power on?
I have an Onkyo HT-R391 receiver (part of a HT-S3500 HTIB system) which will not power on at all. I turned it off last night after using for several hours and it wouldn’t not turn back on this evening.
Why is optical audio not working with Onkyo R?
Usually there is a setting on the receiver to associate an optical port with a particular input. Optical cables are more easily damaged than other kinds of cables–they can be destroyed if they are kinked, for example–so it is a good idea to try more than one.
Where are the optical audio lines on the Onkyo?
The Onkyo has 2 optical audio lines in in the back. When I hit the “digital input” button on the front of receiver, I can select from OPT1, OPT2, or COAX. I currently have the optical audio line going into OPT2, but if I select OPT2, I hear no sound.
Is there a warranty on an Onkyo receiver?
Unfortunately my unit doesn’t qualify for that warranty extension and Onkyo warranties are only for 2 years I believe. I checked the fuse on the power supply and it looks intact to me. There were also a couple of fuses on whatever board is next to the power supply and they looked identically intact:
