Can you use a record player without a preamp?
Can you use a record player without a preamp?
Yes. Powered speakers normally have a LINE or AUX input, so if your turntable does not have a built-in preamp the way to go is to put a standalone preamp between the turntable and the powered speakers. If the turntable has a built-in preamp, it can be connected directly to powered speakers without a standalone preamp.
How far should speakers be from turntable?
Speakers should be placed so that their initial distance between them is 150cm MINIMUM. Mutual distance is always calculated from the middle of the bass unit on one speaker to the middle of the bass unit on the second speaker.
How do I connect my headphone amp to my turntable?
There are two ways to connect a turntable to a headphone amplifier. If your turntable has a built-in phono preamp (LINE output) you connect the LINE output on the turntable to the input on the headphone amplifier. Then you connect the headphones to the headphone amplifier.
How do I know if I need a preamp?
How do we tell if a turntable has a preamp? If a turntable has a preamp, it will usually have a PHONO/LINE switch at the back. To activate the preamp, the switch must be set to LINE. If the switch is set to PHONO, then the built-in preamp is bypassed.
Do you need a preamp with DAC?
It doesn’t matter. A DAC takes a digital stream and turns it into a line-level stereo analog signal, just like the output from your CD player, tuner, phono stage, (or cassette deck!). So if you can connect a CD player or tuner to your preamp or integrated amp, you can connect a DAC to it.
How do I connect a turntable to my nad receiver or amplifier?
Often a phono preamplifier will be required to connect a turntable to a receiver or amplifier. However, if your NAD receiver, amplifier or the record player itself is equipped with a phono preamp, simply connect an RCA cable (red and white) from the left and right channel output…
What makes a C350 nad amplifier so good?
The C350 is a discrete design throughout with bipolar output devices, and like other recent NAD amplifiers, the C350 employs a proprietary Impedance Sensing Circuit, which examines the load and optimises itself accordingly. This has a side effect that the amplifier develops an identical 60 watts into both 8 and 4 Ohms.
Do you need a phono stage for a NAD receiver?
If a preamp or phono stage is not built into your receiver, amplifier, or the record player itself, the PP2e Phono Preamplifier or PP4 Digital Phono USB Preamplifier will be required.
Where can I find the manual for the NAD C350?
Firts off: thank you to hifiengine & the people that uploaded the user manual, schematic and service experiences; this literature is NOT available on the official NAD website & is very hard to find. Just inherited this amp from a friend who has upgraded to one of the awesome Hegel amps + Cabasse speakers.

Is the NAD c 350 a good amplifier?
I have also directly compared it to a much bigger in size Sony TA-FB940 amplifier and again the Nad came out on top, this was a bit like something between the A400 and Nad C350. It’s a great amp easy to listen to very natural in the vocals and realistic.
