I use a Polk Audio sound bar with my standard remote. The polk soundbar came with a remote but it is also a “learning soundbar” that can use the volume up and volume down buttons from your dish remote. Just press a couple of buttons on the soundbar and point the remote at it to teach it the commands.

SBar works fine but I am unable to sync a Polk subwoofer. All my references say to contact Dish. If it’s a subwoofer from Dish as part of the system, the easiest way to pair them is to plug in the subwoofer and then immediately press the sync button on the middle of the back of your soundbar.

It also learns the TV power on/off button and will toggle on and off with the TV. I might be able to provide some help on this.
