Is the Panasonic DMR bw880 a Blu ray recorder?
The Panasonic DMR-BW880 is a Blu-ray disc recorder with a 500GB internal hard drive and twin high-definition digital television tuners. It builds upon the older Panasonic DMR-BW850, adding DLNA media sharing over a home network, but we would have liked to see more extensive Internet features.
Can a Panasonic dmr-bw880 record NTSC footage?
Most will play NTSC footage out as PAL60 – essentially a trickplay mode that will work on a TV but is NOT a true NTSC signal – hence the Panasonic cannot record it. You need either an NTSC VHS player, a proper multi-standard VHS player or a standards converter that will take PAL60 in and output as NTSC (like the GTH Ace).
